Friday, November 2, 2007Watch, Mommy, Watch!
Well, Halloween is done. The kids got the hang of it eventually. We practiced all day....."Trick or Treat" and "Thank you." What we got was "Me want candy....Thank you." The local park had an event we went to and the kids got to feed the animals. Then we went to a few houses. They were very cute and very excited! They also think Halloween is an everyday event now and will go to the door saying "Go get candy. Halloween. Trick or Treat." Obviously the concept of holidays occuring once a year hasn't been learned. They are still wishing me Happy Birthday everyday!

The kids are really starting to enjoy playing together instead of parallel play (I am breathing a sigh of relief!). This means I don't need to interfere nearly as much which gives me time to do other things like laundry and clean (why this is exciting to me I haven't the slightest).

They are in a stage right now where they are really torn between independence and still wanting mommy and daddy. They want to do everything themselves, which makes getting ready a joy, especially when we are in a hurry (all the time). Lloyd is also starting a "Mommy, WATCH!" phase. Unfortunately, I am not sure he entirely understands what he is saying because he says it when I am playing with him and he can see I am watching him!

Lilly painted a picture of a cow yesterday with 4 legs and a red hat. I am sure it was just a coincidence since she doesn't quite understand how many 4 is, but I am still bragging!
